What is a Sterilizer?
A sterilizer will eliminate green water and control bacteria. The Advantage 2000+, 15 Watt, will sterilize up to 500 gallons of fresh water or 75 gallons of salt water.

What is a Clarifier? Used as a Clarifier the Advantage 2000+, 15 Watt will control green water in a freshwater environment of up to 2000 gallons that has 50% to 75% plant coverage and partial shade.

What works best for Marine Tanks?
In marine fish tanks (No reef or live rock) a flow rate matching those shown in the 75,000 or 90,000 column will be most effective at controlling fish disease.

How do I size a UV for a Reef Tanks?
In salt water reef environments choose a UV that matches your flow rate per hour in the 30,000 or 45,000 columns of our chart. Flow rates in the 75,000 and 90,000 columns will destroy the planktonic food supply for the reef.

DeepBlue comments:
Heaps of client rush to us looking for help when they are getting a disease outbreak in their reef tank. To be honest, that’s too late. As a start no medication that actually works well can be used in a reef tank. This means you would have to catch the fish out to treat it. So you would have to pull your reef apart to catch the fish, and stressing it even more. Personally i rather leave it alone, feed it well and hope for the best.

Ok, we have to look at why is there a disease outbreak at the start. You intro a disease carrier fish into the tank and it spread to other fish. How did it pass around? Most of the time is through "water". Running a good quality UV will kill most disease in the water. Yes the UV may not be able to heal the already sick fish but it makes it much less likely of a disease outbreak.

Well...many would say i am already running a UV. Ask yourself again, how much did that UV cost, and when is the last time you replaced that uv bulb, cheap UV is kind of like cheap skimmers. It doesn't work very well. (or not work at all, against disease)

Ok, i would agree UV isn't a must have for a reef tank, that’s why there isn't very much good brands around and most people won't willing to spend too much money on it. However from our personal experience a good quality UV will pay for itself (a few times over) easily from the fish it safe.

After going through many different UV brands and many diseases out break i would say AquaUV is one of the very best (if not the best) UV money can buy.

This advantage model is very easy to install as it just needs to be hang off the back of your tank or sump and plug in a hose from a canister filter or a return pump into it and the the water will flow back into the tank so no extra plumbing is required.
